高碳锰铁是由锰、铁组成的合金。由高炉法和电炉进行生产。电炉高碳锰铁主要用于炼钢作脱氧剂、脱硫剂及合金添加剂,另外随着中低碳锰铁生产工艺的进步,高碳锰铁还可应用于生产中低碳锰铁。锰铁根据其含碳量不同分为三类:低碳类:碳不大于0.7%;中碳类:碳不大于0.7%至2.0%;高碳类:碳不大于2.0%至8.0%。
